Makade's First Day of Pre-School.

OK, so I decided to stop being such a slacker blogger and get myself into gear!! So I am going to blog about something that happened awhile ago but I still want to put on here. Makade started Pre-school this year. He is loving it. His teacher is Mrs. Jolley and he thinks she is great. Every time he comes home he tells me about what they had for a snack. I think that must be his favorite part. But he also tells me about learning his ABC's, the project they make that day and the Pledge of Allegiance. I am so glad that he is so excited about learning and enjoys going to "school".

He is so excited to his first day!

I have an announcement.

It has been a really long time since I have posted anything on here. But I decided I better fill everyone in on the news. Yes, we are having another baby. and no this is not a joke. I am 13 weeks almost fourteen. Our new baby is due the middle of March. I had an ultra sound yesterday and found out we are most likely having a girl! (unless something sprouts in the next couple of weeks... who knows) We were a little surprised at first to find out we were having a baby and I have to admit a little scared. (well me being scared and surprised, Bryan has been so excited from the very beginning) But we are definitely excited now!

Future Fireman

For the last couple of weeks Makade's newest thing is pretending like he is a fireman and going around saving the "smokey people." He even pretends like his red wagon is his fire truck. My mom took him to the store and bought him a fire helmet thing that makes noise and now he thinks he is really an expert fire fighter, or fighter fighter as he says. He kept asking me when he would be able to see a real fire truck. I kept telling him soon, thinking he would see them in the summer parades. So we were super excited when my dad told me they were having a breakfast down at the fire station and that they would have all the fire trucks out to look at. He had a lot of fun and did not want to leave. We only got a couple of pictures before our camera ran out of batteries. I guess I better start checking those things before we go!

Posing with his new helmet.

So I am still recovering from a few weeks ago. It was Charlie's Birthday. Then the next day I had a friend, Kelli, and her two kids come and stay with us for a few days. The day they left my brother and his family flew in from Ohio. The next day Charlie got really sick and then I got really sick. My Aunt Carolyn passed away, which hit me pretty hard. My brother and family from Salt Lake came into town. I was so sick I didn't even really get to enjoy my family from out of town. It was just a lot to happen all in the same week. So we are finally recovered (mostly) and getting back into the groove of things. But I wanted to post a few pics. from Kelli's visit and sadly I didn't take any from my family visiting cause I was home in bed most of the time. While Kelli was here we had a great time as usual. We laughed, talked, she cooked me some great food, we took the kids to the dinosaur museum, the library, the park, stayed up late visiting and much much more.

Must be intense.

This is scarily accurate.... On some parts, I wouldn't say on all of it! Some of the paragraphs describe me better than I can describe myself. Try it for yourself!!

What Erin Massey Means

You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together.

At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.

You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something.

You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense.

You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing.

You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long.

You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.

You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people.

You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts.

You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals.

You are confident, self assured, and capable. You are not easily intimidated.

You master any and all skills easily. You don't have to work hard for what you want.

You make your life out to be exactly how you want it. And you'll knock down anyone who gets in your way!

You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection.

You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.

You have the classic "Type A" personality.

You are the total package - suave, sexy, smart, and strong.

You are a free spirit, and you resent anyone who tries to fence you in.

You are unpredictable, adventurous, and always a little surprising.

You may miss out by not settling down, but you're too busy having fun to care.

Happy Anniversary Bryan

Today is our anniversary, May 1st. We have been married for four years now! Four years and two babies later, we are still going strong. I can't believe it has been that long. The years have flown by. I love Bryan so much. He has been such a great husband and father. We have been through so much in the short four years we have been married. But all together we have been extremely blessed. So this post is going to be all about him. First off I am going to start with how it all began.... I have known Bryan for a long time. His sister Brittany and I were friends when we were younger and I always had a little crush on him. We even held hands when I believe I was in 5th grade. So when I moved home from New Jersey I went to the singles ward with my cousin, Jodi. Bryan happened to be there and I sort of purposely ignored him. (have to play hard to get ya know!) Well it worked because before I could even make it home he had called and left a message for me to call him. I did and we set up a date not really thinking much would come out of it. We ended up going golfing, with his brother Jared, which I had never done before so he had to give me a lot of help. It was fun but I still wasn't sure anything was going to come out of it. A few days later he invited me over to his house and it was over... from that day on we were together every minute we could be. We have always been able to have so much fun together and be our goofy selves. I have always been so comfortable around Bryan and love how easy going he is. He always knows how to calm me down when I start getting a little uptight. He is such a hard worker and I have always admired that about him. I love that we can tease each other and not get offended by it. When we were dating I liked the fact that he wanted to have kids and I just knew he would be great at it, I was right! I love that he spends time playing with his boys and that he loves them so much. He is such a great help with them. As much as he wrestles with them they are going to be pretty tough! He is a pretty easy guy to please and is always grateful for the things that I do for him. He shows it by providing for and working hard for our family. One thing Bryan isn't is lazy. He always wants to be working on something. He even cooks me breakfast most weekends.... I think he gave up on me being a morning person like he is! So Bryan Happy Anniversary, I love you. I am excited for many more years and great memories to be shared with you!

I don't have many pictures from when we were dating on our computer... but here is one.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHARLIE!

(I'm only about a couple weeks slow on this one)

Charlie turned one on April 20th. We had some family over and had some food and of course.... cake and ice cream.
He really liked the cake. He had it so far up his nose he kept sneezing.

Oh, and don't for get about the presents.

I cannot believe that he is already a year old, the year has flown by. He has grown and changed so much... it is truly amazing to have been able to watch him. I love Birthdays so much, especially now that I have the births of my own kids to celebrate. I love celebrating the day they were born and another year older. I feel so blessed to be able to have two amazing little boys.

Little Builder

Every other Saturday, at Lowes, they have an activity for kids. Makade has gone a couple of times and really had fun. They give them an apron, goggles, and a project to build. Last Saturday he built an ant farm. He thinks he is quite the little builder and fix it guy. Ever since he was just tiny he would crawl around with his tools pretending to fix things like his dad does. He loves to go work with Bryan and do whatever he is doing. I'm so glad Bryan is such a good dad and spends so much time playing and working with his boys! He is the best!

New "Tricks"

Charlie has learned how to do a few new things recently. He loves to get into anything and everything. He opens up any drawers or cupboards and rips everything out. It normally isn't a problem. In the places he can get into are things like Tupperware, towells, pans, all the things he loves to get into and play with. But he just realized he can open the refrigerator and the dishwasher.... which I don't want him messing around in. The first time I caught him in the fridge I heard a loud crash, I came running in the kitchen and he had pulled the bar that holds all of the stuff in the door out and it had all came crashing down. Then I had been in a hurry and hadn't shut the dishwasher all the way and he had opened that and was throwing dishes out faster than I could count. He is a funny boy always moving and doing something. With him and Makade I'm always entertained. I definitely can't even me mad for a second, after he does anything he looks at me with his innocent little face and big blue eyes and I just melt!!

Funny Boys

A couple of weeks ago I was getting Charles his breakfast. I noticed it was pretty quiet (which isn't very often the case in my house.) So I went running around the house looking for Makade. I found him in the bathroom in his batman costume calmly putting my makeup on like he really knew what he was doing. He even had it in all the right places just not very well.

I better explain how I could have gotten so distracted that I wouldn't have a clue what my 3 year old was doing. Charlie is the messiest eater I have ever seen. He won't let me feed him very often. He usually will only feed himself. Most of the time I completely strip him down to feed him cause he will not wear a bib. Afterward I usually have to give him a bath and scrub him down. Here are a few sample pictures.

*I hope people don't think that I just think my kids are bad all the time. Although I may be a little upset in the moment occasionally. I mostly just think the things they do are pretty funny and I want to remember all of them!

Our Happy Easter

We had a great Easter this year. Makade was just a little bit older where he really got into it!! Especially dying the eggs. We ended up with lots of cracked eggs and dyed hands but we had a great time.

I didn't think Makade was all that excited for the Easter Bunny to come because I had been trying to get him pumped up about it for a couple of days and he just didn't seem to care all that much. Boy was I wrong!! He went to bed kind of late the night before so I thought for sure that he would sleep in or not be very nice when he woke up. At 2:30 in the morning I heard something but just thought I was dreaming. After awhile I finally woke up enough to realize that it was Makade out shaking his eggs and candy and playing with all of the stuff. I couldn't believe it! He wasn't even this excited for Christmas. So I convinced Bryan to get up and see what was going on. After about an hour he went back to sleep but he was up and at it again at 6:00. He had a lot of fun!! Charlie thought it was pretty great too! He was crawling around after Makade picking up any candy Makade dropped and shoving it in his mouth. After awhile I looked over and he was crawling around with two suckers in his mouth. Lets just say they ate a lot of candy and so they were definitely on a sugar high during church. Sadly I couldn't wait for it to be over so everyone would stop staring at our crazy, hyper boys!! After church we went and ate at my parents house with my mom and dad and grandparents. After that we went out to Bryan's grandparents with Bryan's parents, Jared, Lauren, and their two kids. All in all we had a pretty happy Easter.

Makade and Charles in their new Easter wagon.

Makade loves to hold Charlie, even though he is not much bigger!

1. What were you doing 10 years ago?
I was 15 yrs. old getting ready to graduate from junior high, I thought I was so old! Dancing took up a big portion of my free time. I also worked for my dad at his store, Western Express. 4. What would I do if I were to suddenly become a billionaire?
Well I guess first I would pay off any debts. Get a rockin' new car, and one for Bryan. Set up some accounts for my boys (mission, college, or whatever.) Buy a house right on the beach (but just for vacations) and do a lot of traveling. Also I suppose I would give to family members. And give a lot away. (who really needs billions of dollars... I'm sure if I kept it all to myself I would become a big spoiled brat!!)

5. 3 bad habits:

1. procrastination... do it daily.
2. Stress out way to much.
3. I, just like Whitney am a picker. I pick at everything, my arms, face, Bryan, kids. I have an obsession with Q-tips, love em. Lately I have been getting zits for the first time in my life (kinda weird to just be starting now.) but I cannot leave them alone and pretty soon my face is all red from me picking at anything. But I especially like picking at Bryan and he just goes and hides he hates it so much.

4. I am a major pack rat. I have "collection" of tons of stuff. and I don't even use most of it. I think I have a problem with throwing things away. But I am getting better at not saving everything .
5. I love reading, and try to sneak it in as often as possible.

Oh, what a night!!

I did something last night that I don't normally do... I actually left my house and did something with a friend. I often feel so neglectful to friends and know that I need to make more of an effort to keep up and spend time with them. I have a lot of friends that I really care how they are and what they are doing but they probably wouldn't know it by how I keep in contact! So for those of you out there who are reading this: How are you? What are you up to? I hope everything is great!!!

So about my night we went shopping, ate more junk food than was necessary, got hit on by random men, what more could you ask for on a night out!! You can read more about it on Kandice's blog. (She is on my list of blogger friends) Kandice is very right, a little break here and there DOES make for a much happier wife and mommy!!! So thank you Kandice for always being such a good friend. Even though we have gone through periods in our lives where we have been in different places and phases, we have still always been able to pick up where we left off and got along great!! And don't worry... Bryan didn't complain too much about the money I spent!

Erin had a little lamb, little lamb, little lamb....

So here is the story. I'm up at the Massey household (Bryan's parents) and I'm told that I am needed out where the sheep are. So I go out there, and My Father-in-law ,Todd, needs me to help him pull a lamb. He says that the ewe isn't dilating and she needs to have those lambs. Next he proceeds to tell me since I have smaller hands than him or Bryan that I am the woman for the job. I said OK and started lubing up my arm. After trying for a little while not getting anywhere, I go get some new warm water and Makade decides to come back out with me. I get back in position ready to stick my hand back up there and Makade (bless his little heart) is like "Ew mom don't do that, take it out" he was a little freaked out by the whole thing. I think he thought I was going to get hurt. But I had a job to do, that ewe was finally dilated. The whole time Makade was saying "I'm scared, I'm scared, I want to go in with Grammie." It took me awhile to figure out what was what but I finally kind of had it figured out. The lamb was positioned with his back and butt trying to come out first and so he wasn't getting into the birth canal far enough to dilate his mama. After being frustrated cause I couldn't find what I was looking for, I finally got a hoof and pulled it out far enough that Todd could grab hold of it and pull it out. I don't know how many people have seen animals being born but it is a pretty cool experience! But can be pretty weird to see those little babies coming out and smacking the ground and then if they aren't breathing right away to see someone throwing them around. I had seen all this before, but I think It was Makade's first time. The whole time he was saying "That lamb is dead" once that lamb started breathing he was one happy boy he kept saying "The lamb is alive, he is alive." We took a little break, I took makade into the house with Grammie (he had enough of that), and then I went back in to see if there was another one. There was and this one was coming out the wrong way too. I was trying to find a leg so I could get it out for Todd. The whole time he was being so patient, I just know he wanted to yell find that leg and pull it out dang it!! but he didn't he said afterward he didn't want to offend me cause he was afraid I wouldn't help him anymore. lol, I thought that was funny. But I finally got it and started pulling as hard as I could but I am just not strong enough. luckily Bryan came in right then and pulled it the rest of the way out. this lamb was huge!! But this one did not live, I about started bawling... it was so sad. They had me check to see if there were anymore and there was another one! This time it was coming head first and only took me a second to pull out... I was so relieved!! and even more relieved when it was alive! So we ended up saving two baby lambs, I was just so proud of myself. And it made me realize that with all this new life coming into the world ...spring is coming. That thought just makes me so happy!!
*The pictures were taken the day after...and are not real. In fact not even the same ewe!! too bad they are not in the moment!!

I'm Black??? well I guess that is ok

Bryan and I both took this test, and ended up being the same color! What can I say? Great minds think alike!

Take this test!
Your color is black. The color of night. Serene and mysterious, black conjures up images of elegant evening gowns, dashing tuxedos, and gleaming limousines. Traditionally a symbol of success, black also represents power and an uncompromising demand for perfection. Not surprisingly, you tend to set challenging goals for yourself and do whatever it takes to achieve them — your strength of character is second to none. This unfaltering determination, along with your natural elegance, impresses people. But keep in mind that your personality might be intimidating to some. Try to temper your demanding side with a little softness — trust us, it won't kill you. Overall, though, black is the color of professionalism and achievement, which means it's clearly the color for you.

BOYS WILL BE BOYS

Today has just been one of those days. Both of my boys have been into everything and causing all sorts of havoc around here. If I wrote about everything they did today it would make for a pretty long post, so I will just tell you about a couple of Charlie's happenings.
This morning I put both of my boys in the bath tub. I usually put them both in together and after Charles is finished I take him out and get him dressed while Makade stays in and plays for a few more minutes. So that is what I did. After I got Charlie dressed he crawled in the bathroom to see what Makade was doing and to watch him play I guess, pretty harmless... or so I thought. I was in the next room folding laundry when I heard a big splash. That is not anything unusual with Makade in the tub, but I ran in there cause I was thinking Charlie probably got soaked from Makade splashing. Well it is a good thing I ran because when I got there Charlie had pulled himself over the edge and had fallen in and was under the water. I hurried and picked him up, but he must of sucked up some water and was pretty upset. After he got done choking and crying for a minute he thought it was funny because then he busted up laughing, I couldn't believe it!
About an hour later I went back to my laundry folding. Makade and Charlie were playing with Makade's toys in his room, when all of a sudden I heard Charlie giggling from the bathroom. I went running in because he has been quite fascinated with the toilet lately. Oh boy did I see a sight when I got there. (if you have a weak stomach you might want to quit reading now!) He was covered in poop. Makade had gone and not flushed the toilet and Charlie had fished it out and smeared it everywhere, including himself. I picked him up and began gagging my head off. But I stuck him in the sink and starting washing him off with the nearest soap... while still gagging. The whole time he is looking at me like I'M the crazy one. Then I got the grin and that's when I really lost it...he looked at me with a sweet innocent little smile and what do you know... he had two little poop covered nubby teeth!

He is my climber. He climbs on anything and everything. The pictures were taken over a month ago and since then he has only improved. He started crawling when he was 8 months old, the next day he started pulling up on everything, and about a week later he started climbing on everything. I don't think he goes a day without adding to his collection of bruises on his forehead!

Charlie is such a funny little baby. He is 10 months old and is already getting into all kinds of trouble. I always need to keep my eye on him. After today I think I am going to have to keep BOTH eyes on him at all times!

My Age Quiz Results

You Act Like You Are 28 Years Old
You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel like an adult, and you're optimistic about life.
You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences.

You're still figuring out your place in the world and how you want your life to shape up.
The world is full of possibilities, and you can't wait to explore many of them.

I have a music playlist!

Now this is the story all about how my life got twisted turned upside down and I'd like to take a minute just sit right there I'll tell you how I became the prince of town called Bel-Air.

Yeah, I know this is the theme song from the T.V. show, The Fresh Prince. and yes, I do have the whole thing memorized. Back in the day (Jr. high I believe) I watched this show everyday and somehow with my terrible memorizing skills managed to remember the whole thing. The bad part is it pops into my head at the most random times and drives me crazy. So... yesterday I was working on making a play list of music to put on here, I was trying to think of all my favorite blog appropriate songs and all that kept popping into my brain was this song, I just can't seem to get it out. On the plus side I did manage to finish my play list. I need to give a shout out to my sister-in-law, Brittany, she has helped me with all of my questions and has given me a lot of help... so thanks Britt!

One thing about me is I love Music! All kinds, except all the heavy metal junk and a lot of the Rap crap. My life is just one big soundtrack, different music goes with different moods and different parts of my life. When I hear a song of past it triggers my memory and takes me back to the time I liked the song. And now to the point. So I guess from going through so much music yesterday when I tried to sleep last night I just couldn't, my mind would not shut down. I kept having all these songs playing through my mind. It happens quite often. I'll wake up exhausted because I feel like I've been at a dance club all night. In fact most of my dreams have music in the back ground like it is a movie with a soundtrack or something, a lot of the time it is the same song playing over and over. It's crazy! Does anybody else do this?

*Note to Kelli: Don't hate me because I have a blog... I know you secretly want to read it! And yes you can be a guest writer... if you will agree to a couple of things. 1. You have to put your name on it saying YOU wrote it. Although the titles you came up with the other night were extremly funny to us... others might turn me in to child protection services. 2. You have to keep in mind that people read this, including family members and quite frankly you know far too many incriminating things about me.

Our little Charlie!!

Our little Charlie! He is such a happy little boy. His smile lights up a room and is very contagious. It goes from ear to ear. He has the cutest chunky arms, legs, bottom, and face. It sure is hard not just to want to squeeze the guy like crazy. Like I said before he sure is a great addition to our family. Little Charley you light up the day we love you more than you will ever know.

Our sweet and silly Makade!!

Oh MaKade, you silly silly boy. What a crack up he is! He'll think of anything to make you laugh. Between putting popsicle sticks up his nose or dressing up like a super hero running around the house pretending to save the world. I don't know what makes me laugh harder. You never know where his big imagination is headed next. Maybe he'll come up with a new super hero called the Popsicle stick man. I'm sure what ever it is next will be very creative. Can't wait to see what it'll be. Or wait can I? Makade we love you very much and enjoy your cute little personality!!!

Please put a picture on my map!!
